Thoreau about blueberries

Henry Thoreau suggests in his book Walden (1845) that if you are interested to know how blueberries really taste, ask the shepherd or partridge (peltopyy in Finnish). May be he meant that only they wander around enough to know about wild life.

I found yesterday that blueberries from 10 meters each other can taste all differently.

Henry David Thoreau was Harvard-educated and only 28 years old when he went to live self-suffiently in the woods and wrote his book two years afterwards about his experiences.

All over Finland watercolor painters gather together to paint outside on the 10th of July, which is the birthday of Helene Schjerfbeck. She was famous Finnish painter. Happenings are organized by Finnish Watercolor Society. This is my watercolor at Mikkeli, Kenkävero garden.
